Things to Do Around Coeur d’Alene

Posted by Desiree Janke on January 2, 2020

Happy New Year, dear readers! It’s time to check in: how are you doing? Are you sad the holidays are over? Relieved? A bit of both? Here at the Bennett Realty Group, our team is excited for the new year. We set goals for ourselves and our business to stretch us this year, and we’re ready to get started! Because having a holiday mid-week can lead to having the Monday-est Thursday ever, we’re rounding up fun Things to Do for this weekend.

Friday @ Kolva-Sullivan Gallery, Downtown Spokane: VAULT, by Kelsey Brewer, is a pitch black void housed within a domed structure. Inside, technologies guide and support you to engage with an interior aspect of yourself and describe it in sensory terms. Touch-based sound and sound-based sight interact with you directly to change, complicate and confuse your normal perception of your senses. It will bring the interconnectedness of mind, body, and surroundings into focus.

Spokane Health & Fitness Expo

Sat. & Sun. @ Spokane County Fair & Expo Center: The weekend is filled with fitness class demos, competitions and spectator events like roller derby and jiu-jitsu. Attendees should dress in athleisure-wear to be ready to try something new during sessions. You will find activities from kickboxing to rock climbing; aerial silks to pilates.

Best Hand Ski & Snowshoe Event

Saturday @ 4th of July Pass Recreation Center:  Come Ski or Snowshoe to win prizes donated by local merchants and PNC members. Sponsored by the Panhandle Nordic Club. $10 members $12 nonmembers.

Sunday @ Mt. Spokane Selkirk Lodge, Rathdrum: Winterfest 2020 has something for everyone! FREE Treasure hunt for the kiddos, $5 adult lessons, $5 kid/teen introductory lessons, even a Skijor clinic and lunch! Some events require pre-registration, so check the link for more information.

2020 Charity Ball – Special Olympics Idaho

Friday @ Anthem Church, Hayden: Dress to the nines and enjoy a night of dancing, silent auction and family fun! All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Idaho. The Kootenai County Bears Team is hosting this event. Suggested donation of $10.00 per adult at the door.

Ireland Adventure

Sunday @ All Things Irish, Coeur d’Alene: Your tour hosts, Craig & Ilene Moss, will present the details and answer questions regarding this unforgettable journey to Scotland & Ireland! The 12 day tour of Scotland & Ireland goes from Sept 1 – Sept 13 of this year. Presentation Times are 11am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.

As always, don’t forget to check your town’s local events. Whether your resolved to get fit, learn a new skill, or spend more time relaxing, there’s an activity this weekend for you. January is a great month to find all the little Things to Do to jumpstart your year.
