Things to Do Around Coeur d’Alene This Weekend

In the blink of an eye, Thanksgiving is upon us. In this early edition of Things to Do, I want to take a moment to highlight one of the Things that makes Coeur d’Alene so incredible to visitors. The day after Thanksgiving is our 29th Annual Holiday Lighting Festival. Presented by the Downtown Association and The Coeur d’Alene Resort, it starts with a parade on Friday at 5pm that marches down Sherman Avenue toward the lake. Afterward, everyone gathers on the lawn to sing carols and countdown to the lighting of over 1 million lights, and it all ends with a fireworks show. Locals and tourists alike look forward to this event.

During Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, you’re sure to find some great deals, but we hope you’ll also find some great local business owners to support. To us and all the other local independents and entrepreneurs, your support makes a world of difference. With that, let’s get on to the events!

Now – Dec 22nd @ Ritters Garden Center, Spokane – Go see Santa’s Magical Reindeer this holiday season! You can see them anytime during regular business hours. They have collector ornaments available this year made out of the reindeers antlers! Santa photos will be starting November 29th and every Saturday until Christmas. Athletics

8th Annual Turkey Trot

Thursday @ Coeur d’Alene Kroc Center – Join us for the 8th Annual Turkey Trot – beginning and ending at the Coeur d’Alene Kroc Center. Family, friends and pets are welcome (although our furry friends can only be on the course, not in The Kroc). This year a portion of the proceeds and all of the items collected are going to Real Life Ministries for their new warming shelter.

Ugly Sweater Run

Sunday @ St. Vincent de Paul H.E.L.P. Center – It’s that time of the year…parties, too much food and drink, and of course ugly Christmas sweaters! Trail Maniacs is combining those time honored traditions AND helping the less fortunate with their Ugly Sweater run. This event is free, but they are accepting gently used jackets, coats, sweaters and blankets for those in need. It starts at the St. Vincent parking lot at 201 E Harrison Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814. They will run a 3 to 4 mile route(will depend on weather conditions). Route will finish at Daft Badger, who will have refreshments and a contest for best dressed runner! Voting will start at Daft Badger at 12:00 pm.

Beer Yoga

Sunday @ The Growler Guys, Coeur d’Alene – Grab your mat and all your friends, it’s time for beer yoga! Enjoy a beer, cider or kombucha while getting stretchy. The best way to start a Sunday funday, in our opinion! The class is $15 (this includes the drink of your choice at a $5.49 value).  You’ll need to click the link to reserve your spot, because space is limited.
