Things to Do around Coeur d’Alene 2-7-2020

Before we jump into our Things to Do this week, I want to highlight a couple of events. A fire blazed through a building in Downtown Coeur d’Alene recently. As a result, the building was destroyed, devastating a handful of local business owners and their employees. However, people are pulling together to raise money for their neighbors in need. It’s this spirit of community and coming together that make us love where we live. Please consider checking out these events (listed below) and donating if you’re able. Other Things to Do this weekend include high school athletics, a chocolate and wine tasting event, and a Heart Health Awareness Month event. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Local Events

A CHOCOLATE AFFAIR
February 7 – Sherman Ave., Downtown Coeur d’Alene
If you love chocolate and wine, do not miss Coeur d’Alene’s Premier Chocolate Tasting Event and Competition. Start at the Plaza Shops to pick up your wrist band, then sample wines and chocolates. However, you must purchase your ticket online; none will be sold at the door.

HEART TO HEART EVENT
February 7 – Hagadone Event Center, Coeur d’Alene
This annual two-part event features a free educational seminar and a low-cost heart screening. Registered attendees get a screening to assess blood pressure, body mass index, and cholesterol. The screening includes a full lipid panel and glucose levels measurement. Afterward, attendees get a heart-healthy breakfast. Additionally, a panel of cardiology providers will speak about heart disease prevention tips and when to call a cardiologist.

PUB QUIZ: LOVE HURTS EDITION
February 9 – The Crown & Thistle, Coeur d’Alene
Play a rousing edition of LOVE themed trivia! Hate Valentine’s Day? That’s okay! There’s still delicious beer, great food, and prizes. This is definitely an adults only event.

Fundraisers

SWEETHEARTS BALL
February 8 – Greyhound Park & Event Center, Post Falls
Dress up and bring your sweetie for a night out on the town! As always, proceeds from this event will benefit local seniors and children.

CDA BUSINESS FIRE FUNDRAISER
February 8 – Calypsos Coffee Roasters, Coeur d’Alene
Another fundraising to-do, this event includes tacos from Taco Works, live music from the DIGaddie, Hanna Rebecca and others. Rally together as a community to help the business affected by the fire at Fourth and Lakeside. $5-$10 suggested donation.

LOCAL BUSINESS FIRE FUNDRAISER
February 9 – Honey Eatery & Social Club, Coeur d’Alene
In the wake of the tragic fire that affected several local businesses, Honey is hosting a fundraiser dinner and silent auction to help support them in this time of need.  All ticket sale proceeds are going to the businesses, as well as all proceeds from the silent auction. Tickets include a 3 course family style dinner. Please call the the restaurant directly to reserve your seat!
